Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara | Review & Swatches

I've never been one to be obsessed with buying mascaras. I've always been a lipstick/eyeshadow palette junkie but there was a lot of talk in the beauty world about Maybelline's Lash Sensational Mascara - £7.99 so I just had to try it once I saw a 3 for 2 offer on in Boots.

I really love the packaging of this mascara. The colour of the tube is a lovely metallic rose gold that looks perfect in my makeup stash. The curved brush is long and quite chunky. I had high expectations for the mascara as I always think Maybelline are the best for mascaras. Lash Sensational didn't disappoint!
Many people have compared Lash Sensational to Benefit's lastest mascara, Roller Lash. I have a small tester of Roller Lash and although I loved it, I thought the formula was way to watery. I loved Lash Sensational a lot more than Roller Lash. I did think the formula of Lash Sensational was quite 'wet' but it does dry quite quickly. What I really love about this mascara is that it doesn't clump in the slightest! I never thought it was possible to apply a mascara without it clumping my lashes together. My eyelashes appear volumized and defined. I think this mascara is perfect for achieving natural looking long eyeslashes. All in all, I really loved this mascara and I definitely think everyone should give this a go! The only downfall is the formula being a little 'wet' but apart from that it's perfect. It doesn't clump or crumble and it manages to last for hours. What's not to love?

Do you love Maybelline's Lash Sensational Mascara? Did you think Lash Sensational was better than Benefit's Roller Lash?

Yves Rocher | The Perfect Smokey Eye.

Yves Rocher is fast becoming one of our favourite brands. If you are a regular on our blog, you will have seen that we we're absolutely blown away by Yves Rocher's new Serum Vegetal day and night creams (read our review here!) so you can imagine our excitement when we we're kindly sent Yves Rocher's make up to review for our blog!  We recieved the Quad Eyeshadow Sumptuous Color in Red Hot Brown*, the Fixing Eyelid Primer*, the newly released Creamy Kohl* and the Mascara Volume Vertige*. Seeing as we had only tried the skincare range, we we're so excited to try the makeup. Every girl can't resist new makeup, can they? Especially when it's from Yves Rocher, botanical beauty masters.
First up we have the Quad Eyeshadow Sumptuous Color in Red Hot Brown* and the Fixing Eyelid Primer*. We we're both super excited about trying out the eyeshadows - we are self-confessed eyeshadow junkies! Having not used  an eyeshadow primer before, I was also looking forward to testing that out too. I found the primer super comfortable to wear on my eyes and it's really did make a difference to my eyeshadow's staying power! The primer is none greasy and keeps the eyeshadow in place all day with creasing. I was definitely pleasantly surprised by this product. It's a must-have for any girl that wants a dramatic eye look that stays put all day. The eyeshadow quad is just beautiful. It's as simple as that! I really love the way the two lighter shades in the quad are super shimmery. They work great as highlighters and really open up the eye. The two brown shades are just as gorgeous. My favourite shade in the whole palette is the dark brown. It's really matte and adds so much depth to my eye. I love blending it in my crease.
As you can see in one of the photographs above, Yves Rocher also include an easy step-by-step guide on how to achieve the perfect smokey eye using the quad of eyeshadows, making this the perfect quad for a either a beginner or an expert! I can create many looks using this palette, whether I want a simple eye, classic brown eye or a glamourous smokey eye, this is the most versitile quad in my collection. I love the packaging too. The big mirror makes it so easy to touch up your look on the go! I just love the shiny case it's in too.
The eyeliner arrived just in time for us as we we're both in need of a new kohl liner! I prefer using kohl pencil to liquid liners but I always hate sharpening them! But with this beauty, sharpening is a thing of the past! This one simply twists up and is ready to apply. I just love it! I love how thick the stick is but I still find I can apply a thin line of black on my eyes. The colour is ultra black, my absolutely favourite of course! The ONLY issue I have with this liner is that it smudges. A LOT! I don't advise using this liner in your waterline as it does cause quite a bit of mess. The mascara is just amazing and curls my lashes to perfection. I love the shape of the brush as it just combs through my eyelashes and leaves no clumps. It's really black and the thing I absolutely love about this mascara is that it dries so quick. So when I blink after doing my mascara, I don't end up with half it underneath my eyes! Obviously, I'm in love.

Well, There you have it! Yves Rocher are complete masterminds when it comes to both skincare and makeup cosmetics! I know I will definitely be looking into more from the brand. Will you be checking it out too?

Mini Boots Haul!

I don't think there is anything better than going into Boots and finding new makeup to try out (on a 3 for 2 offer). I am a self confessed makeup addict though! There have been many new makeup releases recently with Spring now in action and here are some of the things I bought yesterday.

Bourjois has always been a favourite brand of mine. These two lipsticks are in the shades 'Jet Set Rouge' and 'Pamplemousse'! They are two new additions to the range Rouge Edition 12 hour lipstick. I've tried other shades from the range before and been really impressed so I already knew these were going to be a good purchase! Me and Rachel have already got a review lined up for these lipsticks so I won't say too much about them in this post but I absolutely love Jet Set Rouge! It's a bright red while Pamplemousse is a coral pink.

How could I not buy the new Maybelline mascara? I've saw countless positive reviews and many bloggers comparing this highstreet mascara to the new Benefit Roller Lash! I've tried a sample of Roller Lash and found it incredible. The price of Benefit makeup is just too much so I'm hoping Maybelline's Lash Sensational lives up to my expectations. I'm always wanting to find cheaper alternatives! I love the packaging of this mascara and I can't wait to try it out. Again, we have a review coming up on this product too so keep your eyes peeled :)

Have you bought anything recently from Boots? What is your latest purchase?

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara Review

I never buy many magazines but that was until I heard that the latest edition of Elle magazine included a little sample of the brand new Roller Lash mascara from Benefit! I knew I needed to get the magazine just for the mascara because I'm all for trying out new mascara's that make my lashes look great. Plus, Benefit is a favourite brand of mine and I loved They're Real! from Benefit. Needless to say, my expectations were very high.

First of all, I love the packaging of course! Benefit never get it wrong. I love the look of the pinky Rose Gold lid but the brush is the best thing about this. It's called a ''Hook and Roll'' brush and it apparently grabs each lash and separates, lifts and curls them to perfection! I find that the small brush also makes it really easy to apply mascara to my lower lashes without smudging it all over my under eyes. Benefit also claims that this stays put for up to twelve hours!

My verdict? This mascara is amazing. My eye lashes look super long and curled! The brush makes application really easy and this formula doesn't clump at all! With just one coat of this stuff my lashes look elongated, lenghened and don't feel weighed down with product at all.

Another one of the many reasons why I love this mascara is because it's so easy to remove at the end of the day. My pet hate is eye make up that just won't come off, no matter what! That isn't an issue with Roller Lash though.

One negative one though - It crumbles and flakes a little. Nothing to major but still, it's so annoying!

Would you buy Roller Lash?

MAC | Keepsakes Set

I was one lucky girl this Christmas. Me and Rachel always buy each other Christmas and birthday presents. It's like our sisterly tradition but we always end up showing each other before we're meant to! This year was no different and I couldn't believe it when I opened my Christmas present from Rachel! This year's MAC Keepsakes Christmas set! I know, I was in shock too!
I've only ever owned a couple of MAC lipsticks before and absolutely loved them like everyone else. I've really wanted to try out other products and this was the most perfect present! I almost cried haha. Inside this beautiful glittery black bag (can you believe how glamourous and pretty this packaging is?) was a brown eyeliner, an two set eyeshadow palette and a mascara! They are all full sized and I could barely contain my excitement. Is there really anything better than putting expensive make up on? It always makes me feel so much better and it's the ultimate treat.

I've included a photograph of me wearing all the mentioned products! Wow, these are the best eye make up products EVER. The mascara. It's unbelievable! Look how long it makes me lashes while keeping them natural looking. I love the eye shadows too. They are so creamy and soft and glide on my eye lids seamlessly. I love the shades. One is a shimmery white but looks really understated and highlights perfectly. The other is like a brown but really compliments the white. It doesn't look harsh against the lighter shade and is a dream to wear. In my opinion, brown eyeshadow is so much more wearable than black so this was the perfect liner for me. It lives up to all expectations too. It finshes off my look perfectly and I can't thank my beautiful sis Rach enough for this truely gorgeous gift!

What do you think of MAC makeup? Do you think it's worth the price tag?

Halloween | Kitty Cat Makeup

This post marks the beginning of our Halloween series! Me and Rachel were getting in the early Halloween spirit by playing around with our makeup. Rachel done my makeup as a cat and she done her makeup as a leopard and it just love how it turned out!
I just want to mention that both of these looks are inspired by Abby who runs the blog, Twist Me Pretty. You should check out her blog and youtube channel, it's amazing! Anyway, let's get to it and lets focus on the Kitty Cat makeup look which I was wearing!

I've always dressed up for Halloween and this year will be no different! For me, October has the vibe of Halloween for the whole of the month and I couldn't wait to finally try out a makeup look. This look was quite easy to achive as I found that it was just unusual twist on my normal makeup look. I prepared my skin with my normal foundation and powder. I then contoured my skin which I haven't really done before but now I'm obsessed! I then added a pink blush to my cheeks. The best thing about this look is the eyes! I obviously created a cat eye for this look. I made my flicks extra long and thick. I also added a sparkly eyeliner on top to give the look more glamour.
Products I used:
Face: Maybelline Superstay foundation | Rimmel Clear Complexion powder | Seventeen Highlighter | Dior Skin Healthy Glow blusher | Bourjois Paris Maxi Delight Bronzer
Eyes: Urban Decay in Sin | Bourjois in Upside Brown quad eyeshadows | Seventeen High Drama eyeliner | Too Faced Kohl eyeliner | Collection glitter eyeliner | Bourjois Volume Glamour mascara
Eyebrows: Too Faced brow evny kit
Lips: Barry M black lipstick

It isn't the scariest for Halloween but it's the perfect twist on your makeup look. You simply can't go wrong with a simply kitty cat makeup. As I said, this is only the first post in our Halloween series. Look out for more Halloween themed posts in the next two weeks.

Have you ever been a kitten for Halloween? Do you think you'll try this look out?

Our Makeup Favourites | Products We Use Everyday.

Hey everyone, welcome to the makeup favourites! This is a short post on what products I've recently been loving! If you love perfect brows, the perfect autumnal eyes, a pop of colour to your cheeks, fluttering eyelashes, nude lips and the perfect catflick, this look might be for you too!

Too Faced Brow Envy Kit - I'm a massive fan of Too Faced after discovering them earlier this year. They're lipsticks are absolutely amazing and I couldn't wait to explore more products from the brand. I bought the Brow Envy kit with my Christmas money and it's the only eyebrow product I've used all year! The kit contains professional tweezers, easy-to-use stencils to customize your brow shape, conditioning wax, powder & brow brush tools. The powders are just the right shades for my brows and they stay put all day. I love this brow kit and I don't know how I lived without it!

Seventeen Wet Look Lacquer Eyeliner - I was out on the hunt for a new liner and I just stumbled across this one. The pigment is amazing and I love the 'wet' look effect! The brush is quite small which might be a negative for some people but I love this eyeliner and I will probably buy it again.

Bourjois Volume Glamour Push Up Mascara - This mascara recently featured on my blog and you can read the full review on it here. If you've already read the review, you will know how much love I have for this mascara! I've been reaching for this mascara everday and it's the best mascara I have ever used. It lengthes, curls and volumizes the lashes - what more could a girl want from a mascara?

Bourjois Quad Smoky Eyeshadow Palette - This is another one of my Bourjois beauties that I have recently bought. I picked this palette out of a total of eight shades. I love the brown/golden shades in this palette and I think they're perfect to create the perfect smoky eye. They're so pigmented and they stay put all day long. I will definitely be buying more of the palettes in the future!

Bourjois Little Round Pot Blusher - There is nothing better than a Bourjois blusher! I love everything about these little pots. I've had this shade for ages now and I still can't get enough of it. I find that this colour just adds the perfect pop of colour and it lasts a good few hours before it starts to wear off. The smell is just gorgeous and I will never get tired of these blushes.

Maybelline Colour Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil - This is another product that I have reviewed which you can read here. I love this pencil and it hasn't left my lips since I bought it. The shade is the perfect nude and it really does apply like velvet. The staying power is amazing too. I can see myself buying this over and over again.

There we have it! Our favourite makeup products that have been gracing our faces everyday! What are your favourite products at the moment?

Lots of love, Rachel x

Bourjois Volume Glamour Push Up Mascara review

Mascara is a piece of make-up I'm always changing in my makeup bag. I never stick to the same one and I don't think I've ever used a mascara that has completely blown me away. Until I bought the new Bourjois Push mascara, I had been using the Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde and I did really like that one. However, I'm a girl that spends money she hasn't got and when I saw the lastest offering from Bourjois, I knew I needed to have it. I got it along with the new Bourjois Quad Smoky Stories eyeshadow palette for a 2 for £14! I have fallen in love with the eyeshadows and will go as far to say that this quad rivals the likes of high end brands such as Chanel and Too Faced!

First off, I loved the packaging of the Push Up mascara. It's black with pink lettering and I think it looks adorable and girly. The brush is always something I look at when purchasing a mascara because I find the bigger the brush, the better it works! The brush on this is amazing and is described as 'uplifting while coating every lash for irrestible curl'! I had very high expectations.

I'll get to the point and say this is probably one of the best mascara's I've used. I knew it was going to be a winner when I first applied it and I could literally see my lashes being coated in a glossy almost wet looking black. My eyelashes really did look like they had more volume, length and curl! Even though the brush is big I could still do my lower lashes without making a mess. I think this might be my absolute perfect mascara and the one I will always buy. I can't really fault it. It stays put all day and  I now have lovely long black lashes! I now hate not having makeup on because I miss my lashes, never thought I'd say that! I think the only negative is that is one of the tricker mascara's to take off at night but my Garnier eye make up remover is a God-send. No joke, if you don't have this remover you should definately get it!

What do you think? Will you be buying Bourjois latest offering?
