Valentine's Day Nails | Our Favourite Red Nail Polishes

Today's post is a quick one on our favourite red nail polishes as it's Valentine's Day on Saturday. Red is my favourite colour to wear on my nails and they're are a lot of red polishes to choose from. As a complete nail polish addict, I've got thousands of polishes but here are my favourites!

Rimmel Salon Pro Nail Polish in Mars - Ever since last year, I've absolutely loved the Salon Pro collection by Rimmel. It's long lasting, easy to apply with the bigger brush and doesn't take too long to dry which is vital for me. I always end up smudging my nails but not with this polish. It's really shiney too so you don't even need topcoat! This red shade is my favourite and has been my go-to red for absolutely ages now! For the perfect red you only need two coats.

L'Oreal Colour Riche Nail Varnish in Femme Fatal - I used to love buying these L'oreal polishes but I haven't bought one for a while now. However, I do love this red in the collection. It doesn't chip and the shine is gorgeous! Almost gel like. The brush isn't as big as the Rimmel one. I really don't like the size of this bottle though! It's so small but it is good quality.

OPI Nail Lacquer - I don't know the name of this shade but it's a really nice red. I do have to say that I don't reach for this one as much as the others. For such an expensive polish it chips quite a lot. I don't think I'd ever pay this much for a nail polish again as the quality is no better than a highstreet polish. Then again, the pricey things in life always make nice treats :)

Max Factor Colour Effects Mini Nail Polish - I think this is called Ruby Tuesday and it's a lovely bright red and lighter than the other shades in this post. I love this red. It looks a little like MAC's lipstick Ruby Woo for the nails! For such a mini bottle it is over-priced at £4.99!

WAH London in Love My Team - I wore this polish on Christmas day and it's so gorgeous! The first thing I noticed was how fast this polish dried! It's a true red in my eyes and I'm really impressed with WAH London on a whole. It's a great nail brand and their nail art kit is absolutely amazing! You can read about WAH's nail art kit here (x)!

I hope you all have a lovely valentines day! I'll be watching horror movies instead :) What is your favourite red polish?

Manicure Monday | Barry M Masqurade

I am a self confessed nail polish addict and my favourite brand for nail polishes is Barry M. I've probably bought every shade of polish there is but while out shopping yesterday, I decided to treat myself. While Boots had a 3 for 2 offer on I couldn't resist and bought three polishes that caught my eye. The first is a top coat as I was in need of one. I really love this top coat as it's also a base coat. The finish is so glossy and almost gel like. After painting my nails with two coats of the black polish, I then finished with Masquerade. This polish is definitely my favourite of the bunch. Masquerade is a beautiful glitter polish and the glitter sparkles every colour. I think this manicure is perfect for the festive season. The glitter and sparkles will spice up any LBD!

What do you think of Barry M nail polishes? Are you a fan of glitter top coats?

Nail Art | Purple Ombre Inspired

As a nail art newbie, I've been looking for different nail designs and I came across this purple ombre inspired look. I've never heard of ombre nails before but I couldn't wait to try it out! This design is so easy to do. I painted my nails with Seventeen gel colour nail polish in 'Pretty Bang Bang'. After that, I got a makeup sponge and painted a line on the sponge with the same polish and then got my other darker polish which is Estee Lauder's 'Black Plum' and painted another line above. I then dab the sponge all over my nails and then that's it! Around your nails will look a little messy after this step but all you need is some nail polish remover.

This was my first attempt and I didn't think it would turn out as good as it has. I'm really loving this nail effect as the purple ombre looks so beautiful! I can't wait to experiement with other colours. I really want to do a red and black ombre look!

What do you think of the ombre nail art design?

Halloween | Zombie Inspired Nails

I said I was going to do a Halloween series and next up is my Zombie inspired nails! This is the first time I have ever done something different with my nail polish and I never knew it could be so easy. If I knew nail art was this easy, I would've been drawing little pictures on my nails for ages! I think this nail look is so creative and adds a little twist to any Halloween look. They're great if you don't want to dress up but still want to get into the Halloween spirit. If you want to try out the Zombie nails you can paint your nails any colours but I chose these colours as they're so vibrant and not what I'd wear on my nails usually. The essential product you need is a nail pen and I got mine from Barry M. The pens are so easy to use and I can see myself buying more colours from the range so I can go crazy with creating different looks! I'm so excited to try more looks out for Halloween and right now I really want to create little pumpkins for my nails!

Have you tried out nail art yet? What will you be creating on your nails this Halloween?
